I am lucky enough to live in an Abbeyfield House in York Road, Cheam, Surrey. We are known as a house for “Supported Living”- not as a Care or Nursing Home.
I came here in January 2017, transported by an ambulance from hospital where I had spent five months following a Three-Part Heart Operation. I was given a very pleasant room overlooking the gardens. Like all the rooms, I have a Bathroom and Shower room attached.
The House Manager, Staff and all of my fellow residents made me feel completely “at home” from the moment of my arrival.
Our meals are always excellent, and we all admit to having put on weight!
Our position here is extremely convenient with a bus stop right outside which will take you either to Sutton or Epsom Town centre. We also have a pillar box virtually outside the front door.
We have a visit from a Hairdresser and Chiropodist for our use if required.
Meals are always a delight because we all get on well together and have a great sense of humour!
I’m sure that no one could be surprised when I say how lucky I am to be here!!!

York Road Resident.
